Planning permission granted for Tunbridge Wells

The operational real estate firm Compound Real Estate has secured planning permission for a flagship self-storage facility in Tunbridge Wells.

Work on the self-storage and workspace hub 91,000 sq ft building is expected to start later this year.

The unit will sit on the site of a former oil depot on the edge of the commercial and residential zones of Royal Tunbridge Wells. Designed to respond to the residential vernacular to the south, the project provides 91,000 sq ft of BREEAM Excellent, EPC A, digitally enabled, secure self-storage space with EV charging and on-site renewables.

Once completed (Dec-24), this landmark development will deliver a 194% biodiversity net gain, generate 60% of its total energy requirement through on-site renewables and provide much needed signage for local businesses.
